THE ACADEMY AAU

AAU Programs for 10U-14U Boys and Girls

Our Mission

At the Academy, we are committed to fostering a competitive tradition of excellence. We believe that creating an environment with high standards will instill a sense of pride in our players every time they step onto the court. This commitment to excellence will lead to success both on and off the court.

The Competitive Edge

Too many parents search for AAU teams in bigger cities such as CDA, Spokane, etc. for exposure or competitive games for their athletes. We on the other hand believe we have the facility, coaching staff, and equipment necessary to create competitive teams with hard working kids right here on the Palouse.

The Academy players will have access to training on a full basketball court for practices throughout the season and have full access to our gym during the week for open gym hours.

We believe that to create a competitive edge, comes from the opportunities to put up multiple shooting reps on our customized Dr. Dish Shooting Machines, or work on their ball handling with our reactionary Blaze pods Cones. Our players will have place to call their own, which will help develop team pride and chemistry faster and sustain success over a longer period of time.

Tryout Information

Tryouts are held at the start of each season (Fall and Spring). All players must try out for their respective age group. Please note that no roster spots are permanent, and every player must register online prior to tryouts. We retain the right to select players who best fit our program's vision and encourage players to explore other teams during the off-season. Player Attendance/Attitude

Punctuality is essential. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early for all practices and games to account for potential traffic.

* Carpooling is the responsibility of players and their families.

* Consistent attendance at practice is required to earn playing time. Unexcused absences will result in reduced playing time or dismissal from the team.

**Player's Attitude**

Hard work and respect are fundamental.

* We strive to work harder than any other team and develop good habits through dedicated practice.

* Respect for teammates, referees, opponents, and coaches is mandatory.

* Negative behavior, profanity, and lack of self-control will not be tolerated.

* Address any team-related concerns directly to the coaches first.

* Bullying, hazing, fighting, behaviors will result in immediate dismissal from the program with no possibility of future re-entry.

Parent Conduct

Parental support and positive behavior are crucial.

* Contact coaches immediately if your child experiences  behavioral issues.

* Demonstrate good sportsmanship at games and focus on positive encouragement.

* Be patient with playing time decisions. Encourage your child to discuss playing time concerns directly with the coach.

* Respect practice time by refraining from yelling or gesturing at players.

* Support the team by maintaining a positive attitude and avoiding negativity.
